On this tour, we will begin with a leisurely walk through the cobbled streets of the Old Town, which was once a vibrant free royal city. Our guide will share fascinating stories and insights along the way, so be prepared for many delightful surprises! We will also visit the beautiful interiors of the Primate's Palace, the former residence of the Archbishop of Esztergom. Within the palace, we will admire the grand Hall of Mirrors and the piano nobile, where we will have the opportunity to see the exquisite collection of tapestries, preserved in their full beauty and available for viewing exclusively in Bratislava. Next, we will explore the eastern part of the Old Town and glimpse inside a remarkable site associated with the renowned master of Bratislava, whose music has gained international acclaim. After visiting this charming location, we will continue our walk through the historic Old Town, including St. Michael’s Gate, “Music Street” paved with noble palaces, and St. Martin’s Cathedral, until we reach the picturesque, tree-lined promenade, where we will encounter famous characters from Hans Christian Andersen's stories. Our tour will conclude near the Slovak National Theatre, where we began. Before we say goodbye we will savour local specialties - our treat!

Trip Itinerary

10:00 - Old Town
We will meet near the Ganymede’s Fountain located in front of the Slovak National Theatre, from where we will set off to explore the heart of the Old Town. We will walk through cobbled streets and enchanting squares, each filled with breathtaking stories.
10:30 - Primate's Palace
After a pleasant half-hour stroll, we will reach the Primate’s Palace. We will take in the impressive façade and visit its beautiful interiors, including the grand Hall of Mirrors and the piano nobile, home to an exquisite collection of tapestries showcasing the antique love story that has inspired many.
11:00 - Stars of the Musical Sky
As we continue our journey, we’ll pass by a charming spot where legends of our pop music scene recorded their songs. Today, it’s a vibrant café featuring live music performances. Next, we will take you to the birthplace of a celebrated music composer, whose works earned him international recognition. Can you guess who he is?
11:30 - Old Town II.
From this charming location, we will continue to explore the rest of the Old Town, including St. Michael’s Gate, “Music Street” paved with palaces of Hungarian noblemen, and leading to St. Martin’s Cathedral, where we’ll discuss its historical role and take a glimpse inside the beautiful Salvator Pharmacy.
12:15 - Hviezdoslavovo Square
In the final part of our tour, we’ll meet the beloved fairy tale characters of Hans Christian Andersen and enjoy a leisurely stroll along the picturesque fountains and shaded, tree-lined promenade, until we reach the Slovak National Theatre, where we began. However, before we say goodbye, we’ll treat you to a surprise to sweeten your day, and make your experience even more authentic and delightful.
